The SRVU Student Union fights for the interests of students on three levels: national, local and individual. First of all, the SRVU is a member of the Landelijke Studentenvakbond LSVb (National Studentunion). Together with the LSVb and the other studentunions of the Netherlands, the SRVU pleads for the improvement of higher education and studenthousing. Second, the SRVU mediates in the interests of students of the Vrije University. On local level the SRVU fights for Accesible, Independent, High Qualiity Higher Education and for more studenthousing in Amsterdam. Besides, the SRVU party, with a majority in seats in the university student council, has a close connection with the SRVU studentunion. They share our political standings, which forms the reason they share our name. Third, on the individual level, the SRVU has four services. The Kamerbureau helps students to get a fair room, the Juridical Advice for Students (J.A.S.) helps students who have problems on legal grounds, the Training and Advice for Students (T.A.S.) delivers professional trainings for students who are in a board and the Platform for Sustainability and Environment (D.A.S.) gives students the opportunity to obtain a more durable Vrije University.
